Jose has been farming conventional red and golden raspberries for Driscoll’s since 1981. He was born in Guanajuato, Mexico, and came to the US when he was 17 years old. His father taught him to work hard and to always put family first. Before starting his own farming company, Jose worked for many years as a picker and an irrigator for Reiter Berry Farms, Inc.

Jose and his wife have three young daughters. They enjoy eating out, going to movies, and attending ballet recitals. The rest of their extended family lives in Oxnard, Ojai and Texas, except for his parents, who still live in Mexico. His life is very busy, so he does not get to visit them as often as he would like.

Jose is learning English. He donates to religious charities and shows his trucks in the Mexican Independence Parade every year.

He is grateful that Driscoll’s had faith in him, and enabled him to build his business.
